Selected Passage
“Timber ran across the drawbridge, slipped past the castle guards, and snuck into the throne room where the Wise King was enjoying a grand feast with many guests. Without hesitation, Timber strode up to the Wise King and asked, “Is this my home?”
The Wise King, who loved puppies very much, said sadly, “No, this is not your home. We can’t have a puppy here because the queen has a little kitten who acts like a ferocious lion. It wouldn’t be safe for you.”
Timber sighed, “I understand.”
The Wise King turned to a plate of Caviar and asked, “Can you help Timber?” The Caviar all said in unison, “Talk to the Scholarly Salmon. He lives in the pond beyond the library.”
Timber thanked the King and the Caviar and hurried off to the pond, eager to find the Scholarly Salmon.”

About the author and the real Timber!
I wrote Is This My Home? because I believe that, just like Timber, everyone is on a journey to find where they truly belong. Whether it’s a school, a job, or a group of friends, finding the right place is essential to growing and thriving. This story is designed to teach many lessons about how someone can learn to find their right place.
This story couldn’t have been written without my own experience with the real life Timber, a rescue dog I met after years of searching for the perfect companion, and he for the perfect home.
Timber is able to do a lot of tricks — here’s one where he can open a door, fetch an object and go back and close the door.
